Framing is completed at 4208 East Huntington Drive, in El Sereno. The development, by East LA Community Corporation, is entitled “Rosa de Castilla.” It will bring 83 new low-income housing units to the area.
The building will be four stories high with 74,900 square feet of floor. The dimensions will be 50 feet tall, 282 feet long, and 135 feet wide. The inside will contain 85 apartments. 2 will fall under the extremely low-income tier, 76 under very low income, and 5 low income. There will be two and three-bedroom units, with prices ranging from $760 to $1,160, according to signage posted on the property.
At ground level, there will be commercial space, a community room, and support spaces facing the street, creating a pedestrian-friendly streetscape There will be one level of basement garage. The site will have 24 compact, 5 disabled, 37 standard parking spaces. For bicycle parking, 61 long-term and 10 short-term spaces will be provided.
FSY Architects are behind the design, which aimed to, “Maintain a fluid connection between the open space of the denser development at the street and the undeveloped open space at the rear.” $12.8 million was the permit valuation at the time of filing. The waitlist is currently closed, according to the developer website.
