Construction has begun and facade development can be seen up to the fourth floor of a supportive housing project at 660 South Stanford Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a seven-story housing development. The project replaced a three-story fifty-unit single-room occupancy apartment building.
Westwood-based Meta Housing Corp is the project developer. KFA Architects and Jag Architects have teamed up to conceptualize the design and manage the construction. RD Olson Construction is the general contractor.
Named the Lamp Lodge, the project will yield eighty-two apartments and are offered as a mix of one and two-bedroom dwelling units. On-site amenities are inclusive of a laundry facility, a community room, and an open courtyard. The developer will reserve the residences for households earning at or below 30 percent of the area’s median income.
Renderings reveal a contemporary style colorful building with a podium. The project broke ground in 2020 and is expected to open in 2022. The cost of construction is estimated at $42 million.
The property site is located north of 7th Street and neighbors a trio of similar supportive affordable housing projects.
