A mixed-use building has wrapped up construction in downtown Long Beach. The project proposal includes the construction of a seven-story apartment building with retail space. The project replaced a surface parking lot at the southwest corner of Broadway and Magnolia Avenue.

Ensemble Real Estate Investments is developing the project. Urban Architecture Lab is managing the design concepts and construction.

Named The Magnolia, wood framing is now completed for the mixed-use project that will bring 142 apartments and retail space on the ground floor. The residences are offered as a mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units. The ground-floor retail space spans an area of 4,000 square feet. The development also offers a three-level parking garage. On-site amenities are inclusive of a rooftop pool deck, a dog park, and landscaped open areas.

Renderings reveal a design showcasing varying exterior finishes and offset floor plates to create texture in the facade.

The project broke ground in March 2020, and the completion is estimated in December 2021.
