A new apartment complex broke ground at 127 East Broadway in Downtown Long Beach. The project proposal includes the development of a surface parking lot into a mixed-use apartment complex with retail space.
Alliance Residential is developing the project. Studio T-Square 2 is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
The property site is a parcel spanning an area of 0.89 acres. Named Broadstone Promenade, the residential complex will bring 189 residential units in an eight-story building. The residences will be developed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments. A retail space spanning an area of 10,000 square feet will be designed on the ground floor. A three-level subsurface garage with a capacity of 257 parking stalls will be developed on the site.

On-site amenities are inclusive of open-air decks at the roof level and above the third floor.
Long Beach Planning Commission approved the project in 2018. The property is under construction since June, and completion is expected in 2023.
Renderings reveal a podium-style building with a U-shaped footprint above its concrete base. The building’s design was conceptualized to complement the nearby Long Beach waterfront, including an illuminated tower in the vein of a lighthouse. An undulating canopy above the first floor is inspired by waves on the beach.
