A new mixed-use project has begun construction at 5401 Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of an apartment complex with retail space.
Richmond Group is the project developer. DesignARC is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
Named The Chandler, the project will consist of a seven-story building featuring 127 apartments. The residences will be offered as a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units. Retail space measuring an area of 12,000 square feet will be designed on the ground floor. A car garage with a capacity of 218 cars will be developed on the site. The developer will be required to set aside ten of the apartments as deed-restricted affordable housing in exchange for density bonus incentives permitting a larger building than allowed under zoning rules.
Renderings reveal a contemporary podium-style apartment building featuring a courtyard, a swimming pool, a resident lounge, and a fitness center.
At the time the project started construction in October 2019, completion of the Chandler NoHo was expected in late 2021.
The project site is located at the northwest corner of Lankershim Boulevard and Chandler Boulevard, next to Metro’s North Hollywood Station.
