More multifamily housing is in the works at 728-736 S Manhattan Place in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The project proposes the development of a large multifamily residential building. Plans call for the demolition of a single-family home and fourplex on the site.

Los Angeles-based ELK Development is the project developer. OfficeUntitled is responsible for the design concepts and construction.

The project proposes to raze the existing structures to make way for a new seven-story apartment building. The new construction will span an area of 61,000 square feet. The apartment building will offer a mix of 60 studios, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom units. A parking garage with a capacity of 33 vehicles will be designed on the site.

Requested entitlements for the project include Transit Oriented Communities incentives permitting increased height and density, as well as reductions to required side yard setbacks relative to the requirements of local zoning rules. ELK will set aside six of the apartments as extremely low-income affordable housing in exchange for the bonuses.

Renderings reveal a white stucco building highlighted by a series of cubical projections clad in wood paneling. Architectural plans show a rooftop deck as well as a gym and other amenities at street level.

The project site is located a short walk north of the intersection of 8th Street and Western Avenue.
