After three years of construction, a nine-story apartment building is now open at 1010 Wilshire Boulevard in Downtown Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a mixed-use apartment building offering retail space. The new building is an expansion of an existing property on the site.
Amidi Group is the project developer. El Segundo-based Bijan & Associates is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
Named TENTEN Wilshire, the project brings 376 apartment units to a nine-story building. Commercial space is designed on the ground floor. The property also offers a parking garage at the basement level. The project is built as a live-work complex and includes a new location for “Plug and Play,” including 100 office units. The building will also include a restaurant and bar, a coffee shop, a spa, and a convenience store.
Renderings reveal an exterior finish similar to the original TENTEN Wilshire development across the street. The new building has a rooftop amenity deck, billed as the largest space of its type in the United States. It features 350 trees, a walking path, a dog park, game areas, and multiple swimming pools. While a portion of the roof level is exclusive to residents, much of the space will be available to outside parties via reservation.
The original TENTEN Wilshire is an adaptive reuse project completed by Amidi Group more than a decade ago. It is one of three large projects in the company’s Downtown Los Angeles portfolio. The two existing structures are expected to be followed by another ground-up development from the company; an eight-story apartment building with retail a block south at Ingraham Street.
