A new apartment complex will soon be seen at 1885 West Slauson Avenue in Chesterfield Square, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a five-story apartment building on an empty lot located at the northeast corner of Slauson Avenue and St. Andrews Place.

Luxurious Properties, LLC is the project applicant. Maly Architects is responsible for the design concepts.

The project proposes the construction of a new five-story edifice featuring 48 apartments. The residential units will be designed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. Parking space with a capacity of 24 vehicles will be developed at the street-level.

The applicant has requested for Transit Oriented Communities development incentives permitting increased density and other zoning concessions on account of the property’s location near frequent bus service and the provision of on-site affordable housing. Five of the new apartments are to be reserved as deed-restricted affordable housing at the extremely low-income level.

Renderings reflect a contemporary low-rise structure capped by an amenity deck. Elevations showcase a stepped roofline along the northern property line, providing a height transition to the lower-scale neighborhood to the north of Slauson.

City records indicate that the project site last sold in 2019 for $1.16 million. The project is under review and the construction timeline has not been announced yet. The property is located across the street from the Chesterfield Square Mall.
