A new permanent supportive housing complex has topped out at 11609 South Western Avenue in Athens, Los Angeles. The proposal includes the development of a supportive housing complex in the unincorporated community of Athens.
Affirmed Housing Group is the project developer. AC Martin is responsible for the design concepts.
Named Westhaven, the project consists of a five-story residential complex, featuring 57 low-income apartments. The apartments will be offered as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units, reserved for households earning between 30 and 50 percent of the area’s median income A car garage with a capacity of 34 vehicles is also designed on the site. Rents are expected to range from $591 to $633 per month.
Renderings reveal a wood-frame structure with a sliding building mass, articulated with varied joints and rhythms across the building façade.
The project has been under construction for the last six months. The roughly $30M project stands near the intersection of Western and Imperial Highway.
