A four story development has been proposed for 780 South G Street, in Oxnard. GR Builders is behind the project, which is currently an empty lot. The desirable location is directly across the street from Hobson Park.

The lot is 21,000 square feet. Plans call for 19 new residential units. Designs will include one, two, and three bedroom layouts. Greenbelts will be included at the front and side of the development, with a courtyard enclosed by three walls of the building.

Two of the units will be low income housing. One will fall under the lower income tier, and another under the very low income tier. All of the units will be in the upper floors, and parking will be provided on the ground level. Several bus stops are in close proximity, the closest being on the opposite side of the park, at Hobson and Arts Center.

The exterior aesthetic will blend contemporary and classic elements. Renderings depict a french vanilla colored exterior, with pillars, wrought iron balconies, and a spanish tile roof. Berkshire Hathaway is currently representing the sale of the lot and accompanying designs. It is anticipated to cost around 3.5 million.

Why not rename this site Oxnard YIMBY? Very strange in a metro of 10 million+ to have so much focus on a suburb of 200K…

  2. I heartily agree. What is it with Oxnard?
