A new residential project has been proposed for development at 1000 La Brea in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a 34-story building offering residential spaces, commercial space, parking, and onsite amenities. The project site houses the Cemex plant, which will be demolished if the residential project received approvals.
Mid-Wilshire-based CIM Group is the project developer. Large Architecture is responsible for the designs.

The project proposes to bring a 34-story tower offering 514 apartments on its upper floors. Approximately 25 percent of the total residential units will be assigned as affordable housing. Commercial space spanning an area of 30,000 square feet will also be designed at the street level. The commercial space will house a grocery store. Parking for 674 vehicles and 393 bicycles will be provided on the site.
Renderings reveal the tower to feature it’s height toward the southern side of the parcel. The building scales down in height toward the north side, providing a transition toward the vertical profile. a series of setbacks are created on the towers, all capped by amenity spaces.

Applications have been submitted and the project awaits design and environmental reviews. Hearings before the West Hollywood Planning Commission and City Council are expected in the first half of 2024.
