A new affordable housing project has been proposed at 611 South Hobart Boulevard, Koreatown, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of an affordable housing at an empty parcel.
Records list Leo Lee as the project developer. EWAI is responsible for the designs.
The scope of work includes the construction of a seven-story building offering 80 residential units at 100% affordable rates. The affordable housing will be developed through the Mayor’s Executive Directive 1. The residential units will be designed as studios and one-bedroom apartments. No onsite parking has been proposed yet.
Since the project offers affordable housing, the project is eligible for utilizing various density bonus incentives permitting waivers of certain zoning rules. Renderings reveal a contemporary facade designed in with stucco and metal mesh screens.
The project site is located along Wilshire Boulevard and 6th Street in Koreatown. The project site previously housed a preschool. A project application was filed earlier in January 2024. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
