A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 1451 West Florence Avenue in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a five-story building offering apartments at affordable rates.
Behrouz Bozorgnia is listed as the project applicant. Mobbil, Inc. is responsible for the designs.
The scope of work includes the development of a five-story apartment building on a corner property lot. The building will offer 47 apartments and one Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU), along with a small at-grade parking garage.
The project will be constructed utilizing the Mayor’s Executive Directive 1. Requested project entitlements include density bonus incentives to permit a larger structure than would normally permitted by zoning. In exchange, all of the proposed apartments would be set aside for rent as low- and extremely low-income affordable housing.
Renderings reveal a modern-style low-rise structure capped by a rooftop amenity deck. A small courtyard at the center of the building will also be featured.
A project application has been submitted for review. The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet.
