Construction is underway for a new mixed-use project proposed for development at 11701 West Santa Monica Boulevard in Sawtelle, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a new six-story building offering spaces for residential and retail uses. The project replaced a shuttered commercial building on the site.
Markwood Enterprises is the project developer. Steinberg Hart is responsible for the designs.
Named Santa Monica-Barrington, the six-story mixed-use project will bring 53 multi-family residential units and retail spaces. The building will yield a total built-up area spanning 45,420 square feet. The building will offer live/work spaces, and studio apartments, along with townhomes featuring one-bedroom and two-bedroom floorplans.
The six-story will also have a fully automated subterranean parking garage. The project is design demonstrated sustainable, high-density urban living.
The project site is located at the northwest corner of Santa Monica and Barrington Avenue, along a busy stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard to the west of the I-405 Freeway. Future residents will be located 1.4 miles from Metro’s Expo/Bundy station. The project is expected to reach completion in 2024.
