Construction work is under progress for a new multifamily residential development proposed at 831 South Westlake Avenue in Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a seven-story building offering 79 apartments. The project replaced a building constructed in the 19th century.
Westlake Apartments, LP is listed as the applicant and owner. Mobbil, Inc., a civil engineering firm, is responsible for the designs.
Construction is in progress for a new multifamily residential development taking shape and form of a new seven-story building with 79 residential units. Podium parking for 40 vehicles is also a part of the project. The project was approved in 2020.
Project entitlements include Transit Oriented Communities incentives permitting a larger building than otherwise allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, 12 of the apartment are to be set aside for rent by very low-income and extremely low-income households for a period of 55 years.
The project site sits a few blocks to the south of Metro’s Westlake/MacArthur Park Station. Future residents will be located a short walk from MacArthur Park, just south of 8th Street.
