A new affordable housing project has been under construction taking shape and form at 7655 South San Pedro Street in Florence. The project proposal includes the development of a four-story building on a vacant parcel.
Los Angeles-based Eleos is the project developer.
The project site can be seen under construction for a four-story building offering 40 dwelling units. The units will be designed as a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans. No on-site parking has been proposed at this time.
Named Pandora, the affordable housing options will be made available for low-income households. The project site was acquired in 2021 for $950,000.
Project entitlements include Transit Oriented Communities incentives, which permit a larger structure than would otherwise be allowed by zoning rules. Outside of a mandatory manager’s unit, of the apartments are to be rented to low-, very low-, and extremely low-income households, making it eligible for the incentives.
Construction permits were issued by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety. The estimated completion date and market availability have not been announced yet.
