A new small-scale residential project has been proposed for development at 421 East 4th Street in Long Beach. The project proposal includes the development of a new seven-story building offering 96 micro apartments. The project will replace a surface parking lot on the site.

Local firm Harbor Vista is the project developer. CityFrabrick is responsible for the designs.

The scope of work includes the construction of a seven-story building featuring 96 studio apartments, with floor plans ranging from 325 to 505 square feet in size. Parking for 17 vehicles will be provided on the ground floor. Plans also show amenity decks at the second floor and rooftop levels.

Renderings reveal a modern podium-type building, with a facade in painted cement plaster, fiber cement panels, and metal. According to a staff report, 12 of the new apartments are to be set aside for rent as affordable housing at the very low-income level.
