A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 6033 De Soto Avenue in Warner Center. The project proposal includes the construction of a new eight-story apartment building offering affordable housing options.
Meta Housing Corp is the project developer. AC Martin is responsible for the designs.
The affordable housing complex will be built using the Mayor’s Executive Directive 1. Plans call for 232 apartments to be constructed within the eight-story building. All units will be developed as a mix of two-bedroom and three-bedroom floor plans. Additionally, the project will offer parking for 116 vehicles.
Out of the total, 80 percent of the apartments will be reserved for eligible low-income households, with the remainder to be reserved for moderate-income renters. The project is eligible for density bonus incentives which would permit a larger structure than typically permitted by zoning rules.
Renderings reveal a contemporary podium-style structure with two central courtyards and some street-fronting apartments. Previously, a senior housing complex was proposed for the project site. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
