Plans proposed for a new high-rise development have gone recent changes at 1050 La Cienega Boulevard in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a new 43-story tower offering spaces for 500+ residences and retail space, along with onsite parking and amenities.
Carmel Partners is the project developer. Solomon Cordwell Buenz designed the previously approved project.
Previously, in 2023, Carmel Partners received approvals for constructing a 24-story building featuring 290 apartments. With a new updated project application, the scope of work includes the construction of a new high-rise apartment tower rising 43 stories high and offering 532 residences.
Previously approved plans also called for 4,100 square feet of ground-floor retail and parking for 412 vehicles, along with 29 units set aside as affordable housing options.
With the adoption of the Los Angeles housing element rezoning plan, Carmel appears to now be aiming much higher. The proposed project will also include a 12 percent extremely low-income affordable housing set-aside, resulting in approximately 64 income-restricted units available for rent.
The project site is an empty lot just south of Beverly Hills. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
