Construction is complete for a new multifamily development located at 1655 Allesandro Street in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The project site is positioned at the northeast corner of Allesandro Street and Effie Street, just southeast of Glendale Boulevard. The development replaces a single-story warehouse previously occupying the site.
The project was developed by A.J. Khair Development & Construction, with architectural services provided by GA Engineering.

The structure rises five stories and includes a total of 41 apartments. The residential units are configured in a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts. On-site parking is provided at-grade for up to 35 vehicles.
The 1655 Allesandro development utilized Transit Oriented Communities (TOC) incentives, qualifying as a Tier 3 site due to its proximity to Metro bus lines along Glendale Boulevard. In exchange for increased floor area and height allowances, four units are set aside as deed-restricted affordable housing for extremely low-income households.

Design plans from GA Engineering depict a modern low-rise structure with clean white stucco finishes, horizontal wood-texture siding, and dark metal accents. The massing includes cantilevered balconies, recessed terraces, and floor-to-ceiling windows that introduce variety and depth across all elevations. A landscaped rear yard, courtyard, and rooftop deck offer shared outdoor space for residents.
Permit records confirm that the building was issued a Certificate of Occupancy in 2025. No formal announcement has been made regarding leasing.
