Available Now | Supportive Housing at 6101 State Street in Huntington Park

Construction has wrapped up on a new supportive housing development in Huntington Park, where a four-story residential building has been completed at 6101 State Street on a formerly vacant site. The project, known as Huntington Square, was developed by A Community of Friends and includes 48 apartments reserved for senior residents who are veterans, low-income, or formerly homeless. The unit mix consists of studio and one-bedroom apartments, along with a single manager’s unit integrated into the building.

According to planning materials previously reviewed by Los Angeles County, the apartments are income restricted for households earning at or below 30, 50, and 60 percent of the area median income. The development delivers permanent housing on a parcel that had remained unused prior to construction.

FSY Architects designed the building as a contemporary low-rise structure, with exterior elevations finished in a combination of stucco and corrugated metal panels. The massing is broken into articulated volumes that step along the street frontage, giving the project a scaled presence within its neighborhood context.

Huntington Square adds to a growing portfolio of completed and proposed developments by A Community of Friends, which has delivered similar supportive housing projects elsewhere in Los Angeles, including the Lorena Plaza development in Boyle Heights.
