A long-vacant redevelopment site along Century Boulevard is poised for a major transformation in Inglewood, where city officials have approved a 13-story mixed-use project that blends traditional hotel rooms with condominium residences near the city’s growing sports and entertainment district.
The proposal at 4200 West Century Boulevard would replace the existing Tradewinds Hotel with a substantially larger structure encompassing approximately 335,000 square feet. Unlike conventional hospitality projects, the development adopts a hybrid model that layers multiple lodging and ownership types within a single building, a strategy increasingly used to support large-scale construction near event-driven destinations.
Plans call for a vertically organized program in which 175 standard hotel rooms would occupy floors three through six, while an extended-stay component totaling 118 rooms would be located on upper levels. Above these hotel uses, 11 condominium units are planned across floors nine through twelve, introducing for-sale housing into a corridor historically dominated by transient lodging and auto-oriented uses.
The project is being developed by Crescent Hotel Group, with architectural design by CallisonRTKL, the global architecture and planning firm operating under parent company Arcadis. Renderings depict a contemporary mid-rise building rising roughly 150 feet, with articulated façades and digital display elements integrated into the lower floors, reflecting the commercial character of Century Boulevard and its proximity to major venues.
At street level, the building is designed to accommodate hospitality-oriented uses including a lobby, restaurant and bar space, and event facilities, reinforcing the site’s role as a destination rather than a standalone hotel. Vehicle access and storage would be concentrated in a multi-level garage at the base of the structure, where parking for up to 915 vehiclesis proposed, underscoring the project’s orientation toward large event crowds.
Environmental review documents prepared for the development anticipate a 26-month construction timeline. Once built, the Century Boulevard project would join a growing cluster of new hotel and mixed-use developments emerging around SoFi Stadium and Intuit Dome, illustrating how hybrid condo-hotel formats are being used to intensify land use and diversify revenue streams in Inglewood’s rapidly evolving stadium district.
