An application has been filed with the Los Angeles Department of City Planning requesting development incentives for a residential project at 1845 North Taft Avenue in Hollywood. The proposal utilizes provisions of the Citywide Housing Incentive Program to permit a larger building envelope than otherwise allowed under base zoning regulations.
Plans outline a six-story multifamily structure containing 33 residential units. The unit mix consists of one-, two-, and three-bedroom layouts. As part of the program requirements, four of the apartments would be designated for extremely low-income households.
The development is proposed by Rom Investments. Project documents indicate that 48 automobile parking spaces would be provided on-site, despite parking not being required at the proposed density.
Category Design Group is responsible for architectural design. Renderings illustrate a building organized with a raised base condition and upper residential levels. The massing is organized to address the corner condition of the site, with upper floors stepping slightly above a defined base level.
If approved, the project would introduce a mid-rise residential structure to the Taft Avenue corridor under the framework of the Citywide Housing Incentive Program.
