A new supportive housing project has reached completion at 22905 West Vermont Avenue in Carson. The project proposal includes the construction of a new residential project offering 100+ supportive housing units. The project site formerly housed an automobile repair garage.
Non-profit developer PATH Ventures and R.D. Olson Construction are the project developers. KFA Architecture is responsible for the designs.
Named The West Carson Villas, the project brings a new four-story building spanning an area of 150,000 square feet. The residential units are designed as a mix of 111 one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom floor plans available for households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area’s median income level. Onsite residential amenities include a yoga room, a shared community room and kitchen, a computer room, an outdoor playground, and parking for 83 vehicles.
Designs reveal that the structure is a low-rise development, built to LEED Gold standards. It boasts features such as rooftop solar panels and a hot water recirculation system. The building has pitched rooflines and a metal exterior.
Future residents will be located a few blocks south of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. The project utilized funding for $42.5M.
