A new townhome development has been proposed for a site at 13615-13633 South Vermont Avenue, Gardena, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes redeveloping a nursery into a townhome community.
Irvine-based Melia Homes is the project developer. San Diego-based firm Summa Architecture is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
The property site spans an area of four acres and currently houses Moneta Nursery. The development will be a new condominium subdivision consisting of sixteen buildings and eighty-four residential units. Named Evergreen Row, the residential community will feature three-story structures containing two, three, and four-bedroom dwelling units. Two affordable units with one bedroom each will also be designed. Parking space with a capacity of 200 vehicles will be designed throughout the site.
An initial study released in fall 2020 by the City of Gardena revealed a one-year construction timeline, and work was expected to begin in January 2021 at that time.
The property site is situated north of 141st Street and Vermont Avenue, neighboring a similar townhome project. The site sits half a mile east of Normandie Avenue.
