Plans were filed by the City of Los Angeles to redevelop a site at 6061 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a dome-shaped high-rise office building. Plans call for razing multiple small commercial structures.
MAD Architects is responsible for the design concepts and construction. Local design studio SALT Landscape Architects is designing the landscape.

Named The Star, the project will bring a new 500,000-square-foot new creative office development. The building facade will rise to a height of 22 stories.
Renderings reveal an unconventional and impressive design inspired by the curvilinear forms of Griffith Observatory, Capitol Records Building, Hollywood Bowl, and the Cinerama Dome.
The Star is an iconic, new creative office development designed to be a modern landmark in Hollywood and the future home to a global entertainment company. The building design features green architecture and is landscaped from top to bottom. Multiple sky gardens, lush planning, and terraced green spaces are embedded in the building. Onsite amenities are inclusive of a domed rooftop deck, space for restaurants, and a funicular cable rail.
The cost of developing the project is estimated at $500 million. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
The property site is located at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Gower Street. The property is within walking distance from the Metro Hollywood/Vine Station and attractions like the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
