A new residential building will soon be ready to house residents at 711 Walnut Street in Playhouse District, Pasadena. The project proposal includes the development of a new apartment building offering residential and retail spaces.
Prominent Development is the project developer. Tyler + Kelly Architecture is responsible for the design concepts.
Four months into construction, the apartments have topped out on the site, offering 115 homes. Named MW Lofts, the six-story building will also offer retail space on the ground floor. The retail space will span an area of 14,000 square feet. A basement parking will also be available upon completion.
Renderings reveal a contemporary podium-type building with cantilevered rail balconies and stone accents on its exterior. A 250-foot-long pedestrian arcade will line the building’s ground-floor retail and restaurant space along Walnut Street, with additional open space to be provided for residents at the roof level.
Prominent Development acquired the site for $11 million in 2016. The site is located at the northeast corner of Walnut Street and El Molino Avenue.
