A vacant commercial building will soon provide housing to Hollywood residents. A mixed-use project at 1546 North Argyle Avenue and 6224 West Selma Street has been approved to take shape from the longtime base of Ametron Electronics. The proposal will create a seven-story building with residential units, retail space, and a subterranean parking garage. Mill Creek Residential Trust is going to develop this project. AC Martin is managing the design concepts and construction.

Named Modera Argyle, the project will span across 260,250 square feet and will feature 276 residential units offered as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. Retail space of 27,000 square feet has been allocated at the ground floor level. A four-level subterranean parking garage with a capacity to park 412 vehicles is planned. Mill Creek will set aside thirteen apartments as low-income affordable housing in exchange for density bonus incentives. On-site amenities are inclusive of a courtyard, swimming pool, and a terrace deck.

Ametron, an electronics supply business founded in 1951, relocated from the Modera Argyle site before the demolition.

The property is located at the southeast corner of Selma Street and Argyle Avenue, one block south of the Metro Red Line station at Hollywood & Vine. Other similar affordable housing projects can be seen flourishing in the area.
