Rebar is starting to rise for “Wetherly Hills Apartments,” at 143 South Wetherly Drive, in Beverly Hills. Heller Properties is the developing company. The project is replacing two single-family residences and a duplex, with much denser housing, including some low-income housing.

The building will be five stories tall, with 31,500 floor area. The dimensions will be 58 feet tall, 91 feet long, 84 feet wide. Inside, there will be 40 apartments, four of which will fall under the very low-income tier. The units will be equipped with smart home technology for the residents to enjoy.

There will be two levels of the basement. 8 compact, 1 disabled, and 40 standard parking stalls will be available. There will also be 80 long-term and 4 short-term bicycle spaces on site. The Burton/Doheny bus stop is a little over a block away, providing alternative transportation.

Kamran Tabrizie is listed as the architect behind the design. Renderings depict a modern facade with variously sized balconies on some of the units. The site received a 35 percent density bonus overall. The permit valuation, at the time of filing, was $6.2 million. The property is scheduled for completion in Spring of 2022, according to Heller Properties’ Instagram site.
