A new residential project has been proposed at 1725-1739 Bronson Avenue in Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of an apartment tower on a vacant property lot.

San Francisco-based firm DM Development and Los Angeles-based firm Massachi Industries are developing the project. Steinberg Hart is responsible for the design concepts and construction.

The project will bring a 24-story tower featuring 128 apartments. The apartments will range from 700 square feet to 1,900 square feet in size. A semi-subterranean parking facility with a capacity of 134 vehicles will be constructed on the site. The upper floors of the building will include traditional apartments. The middle section of the tower will include micro suites that will be smaller in size and connect to amenity spaces, including a fitness center at the podium level. The complex will also offer a rooftop pool terrace with panoramic views of the city.

The building facade will rise to a height of 270 feet and is designed in glass.

The project is entitled to density bonus incentives and, in return, will include twelve apartments priced as affordable housing at the very low-income level. Construction is expected to begin in late 2022. The building is anticipated to open for residents by the third quarter of 2024.

The property site is located south of the US-101 freeway in Hollywood.

Sorry to see my childhood home torn down to make this apartment building. I lived there in 1941, and have fond memories of next door neighbor in the big white house just south of us. I was just 6 years old, and when war broke out, we moved to Shafter, CA where an air force training base was. My dad was a musician and enlisted right away. For we seniors, nostalgia is a powerful drug.
