Work has finished at 1856 South Wilton Place, in Harvard Heights, Los Angeles. The development is intended for low-income and homeless seniors. Hollywood Community Housing Corporation was elected to lead the new building plans as one of the first developments to utilize city-sponsored supportive housing, Prop HHH. The project has been entitled “Gramercy Place Apartments.”

Kevin Daly Architects was brought in for the design work. The lot will contain six smaller but connected buildings made to reflect the scale of the surrounding single-family residences. The dimensions of the design are 44 feet tall, 336 feet long, and 93 feet wide. They are four stories tall, with a total of 70,900 square feet of floor.

Inside, there are 64 apartments. Nearly all of the units are low-income housing. Nine are under the very low-income tier, and 53 are under the low-income tier. Amenities include a commercial cafe, community spaces, and a public plaza on the entry level. There is one level of subterranean parking. Inside, there are 24 compacts, 4 disabled, 35 standard parking spaces, 66 long-term, and 9 short-term bicycle parking spaces.

The exterior features a walkway system covered with a loose trellis, intentionally contrasted against the lace-like metal screen protecting windows from southern exposure. The site has 5270 square feet of landscape overall. $9 million was the permit valuation at the time of filing. The site is currently leasing according to housing.lacounty.gov.
