Rebar is starting to rise at 954 South Catalina Street, in Koreatown. The project will bring denser housing to the area, as well as a couple of low-income housing units. It is part of the Tier 3 Transit Oriented Coummintes program.
The building will be 57 feet tall, 126 feet long, and 38 feet wide. It will be five stories tall, with 11,200 square feet of floor. 19 apartments will be inside, three of which will fall under the low-income tier. Amenities include a lobby, elevator, and a gym.
Parking will be on the single basement floor, as well as on the ground floor. There will be 1 disabled and 10 standard parking stalls. 20 long-term and 2 short-term bicycle parking spaces will also be on site. The San Marino and Catalina Street bus stop is a short walk away, at the end of the block, providing public transportation to the area.
Holtz Architecture is behind the design. Renderings depict a narrow, contemporary design, accented by wood paneling. A standout feature will be the rooftop deck. The site will have 900 square feet of landscape overall. $2.6 million was the permit valuation at the time of filing.
