Two years after breaking ground, an affordable housing project has cut the ribbon at 2375 West Washington Boulevard in Harvard Heights, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a supportive housing complex for seniors, replacing a surface parking lot between Gramercy Place and Wilton Place.
Hollywood Community Housing Corporation is the project developer. Kevin Daly Architects is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
Named Gramercy Place Apartments, the project will bring 64 apartments in a four-story edifice. The residences will be offered as a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, half of which are reserved for unhoused seniors. A retail space spanning an area of 2,900 square feet will be developed on the ground floor. A parking space with a capacity of 63 vehicles will be allotted on the site.
The project secured $37 million in funds. The project, which is already leased, is reserved for seniors earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area’s median income.
The project design features a mid-block setback facing Washington Boulevard and a rear-facing terrace deck that offers open space.
