Framing is starting to rise from the four basement levels at 1546 North Argyle Avenue, in Hollywood. The project, by Mill Creek, will bring 276 residential units, along with some commercial space, to the popular area between Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard. The site is 1.1 acres overall.
When completed the building will be seven-stories tall. It will contain 260,300 square feet of floor area. The ground level will have a mezzanine and contain up to 27,000 square feet of commercial space. Amenities will include a courtyard, swimming pool, and an upper-floor deck.
The six highest levels will be residential, including 13 low income housing units, at the very low income tier. There will be a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom layouts.Parking will be in the below grade levels, with 412 spaces total. The Hollywood/Vine metro station is a little over a block away, providing close public transportation.
AC Martin is behind the design. 61,800 square feet of commercial use, in six buildings, and surface parking areas, were demolished to create the site. Construction is expected to wrap up in 2024. The site has also been given the address of 6224 West Selma Avenue in some documents.
