Work remains stalled at 1155 South Olive Street, in Downtown Los Angeles. Developers Mack Urban and AECOM Capital last resubmitted plans in 2018, and received financial incentives in 2019 from the city, but permits have yet to be filed. When completed, the site will bring a new hotel to the area, which the City estimates will generate $34.6 million in net new revenue for the City, including construction, during the first 25 years of operation.

Designs call for a 16 story tower with 4,600 square feet of commercial space for restaurants and/or retail on the ground floor. The second floor will have a hotel lobby and conference rooms. 243 hotel rooms will be inside the upper floors.

A standout amenity will be the rooftop pool deck, which will include a gym. A feature garden will be near the entry, at ground level, with adjacent outdoor dining space. Parking will be on one level of valet only, subterranean parking. Long-term bicycle parking will be included on site.

The lot is currently a surface level parking lot. It was previously zoned for residential development. Cuningham Group is behind the new architectural design. Development is expected to cost at least $112 million.
