A new apartment building is under construction and rising at 200 North Vermont Avenue in Koreatown, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a new six-story building offering 490 apartments. Mixed-use project will rise from a former car dealership site.
Hankey Group and Jamison Services Inc are the project developers. MVE + Partners is responsible for the design concepts.
The project will bring a six-story structure featuring 490 residential units. The units will be developed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments above 35,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a two-level semi-subterranean parking garage.
Hankey and Jamison Services entitled the project using Transit Oriented Communities incentives to secure approvals for a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules. In exchange 49 of the apartments are to be reserved as extremely low-income affordable housing for a period of 55 years.
Renderings reveal a contemporary podium-type building with multiple landscaped decks and courtyards, as well as amenities such as a swimming pool, a half basketball court, a game room, a screening room, and a co-working space.
The apartment complex is the third large project built as a joint venture between Hankey and Jamison Services. The project site is located near Vermont/Beverly Station.
