A new affordable housing project has been proposed for development at 14658 Gilmore Street in Van Nuys, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a new four-story building offering 46 affordable housing units. For the project to be completed, plans call for the demolition of a 109-year-old home located on the site.

Tru Residential is the project applicant and developer. JZA Architecture is responsible for the designs.

The project applicant is seeking entitlements to raze the existing 109-year-old structure to clear the way for a new four-story building featuring 46 residential units. Plans call for the construction of 46 residential units designed as a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. The apartments will be reserved for low-income and moderate-income households. The project was submitted for approval through the process created via the Mayor’s Executive Directive 1.

Renderings reveal a contemporary low-rise structure clad in fiber cement panels and stucco.

The project site is located west of Van Nuys Boulevard, two blocks west of the commercial corridor of Van Nuys Boulevard, which has recently seen the addition of several larger mixed-use projects.
