A new affordable housing may be added to the city of Los Angeles at 2625 South Cullen Street in Mid-City, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a new six-story building offering units at affordable rates along with onsite parking. The project requires the demolition of five small residential buildings currently occupying the site.
Cullen Investments 26 LLC and Cullen Place 26 LLC are listed as the project applicants. Warren Techentin Architecture is responsible for the designs.
The scope of work includes the construction of a new six-story building featuring 70 apartment units. The units are proposed to be designed as a mix of studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom floor plans. The project will also offer at-grade parking for 26 vehicles.
The project will bring affordable housing through the Mayor’s Executive Directive 1. Renderings reveal a contemporary low-rise structure.
The apartment complex will have one manager’s unit. All apartments will be reserved for low- and moderate-income households. The project is eligible for density bonus incentives permitting a larger building than allowed by zoning rules.
The project site is located near the intersection of Venice Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard, about half a mile north of Metro’s La Cienega/Jefferson Station.
