A new affordable housing project may soon become an addition to the city of Los Angeles at 845 North Alfred Street in Beverly Grove. The project proposal includes the development of a new seven-story building offering apartments at affordable rates. The project will require the demolition of a pair of small apartment buildings currently occupying the site.
843 Alfred MBV1, LLC is listed as the project applicant. Kevin Tsai Architecture is responsible for the designs.

The scope of work includes the construction of a new seven-story building offering 144 dwelling units at affordable rates. The units will be designed as a mix of studios and one-bedroom floor plans, available for moderate-, low-, and very low-income households. No onsite parking has been proposed as a part of the project.
The project will bring affordable housing through the Mayor’s Executive Directive 1. Renderings reveal a contemporary podium-style building featuring an exterior designed in painted plaster and aluminum panels. The building flaunts a C-shaped footprint wrapped around a street-level courtyard.
A project application has been submitted to the City Planning Commission, for review and approval. The estimated construction timeline has not been revealed yet.
The project site is a corner parcel, located near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard. The project site fronts Willoughby Avenue to the north.
