A new mixed-use project has been proposed for development at 1700 West Pacific Coast Highway, Redondo Beach. The project proposal includes the construction of a new five-story building offering spaces for residential, hotel, and retail uses.
Beverly Hills-based Legado Companies is listed as the project developer.
The project site is a parcel spanning an area of 4.3 acres. Named Legado Redondo, the complex will offer apartments, a hotel, and retail spaces.
Apartments will be developed in a podium-style five-story building, offering 115 units. Street-fronting commercial and restaurant space will be created spanning 22,000 square feet. The project also calls for parking below the building.
Other than residential and commercial spaces, the project also proposes the renovation of the neighboring Palos Verdes Inn. Upon completion, the property will be operated as a 110-key hotel featuring a modern exterior and a rooftop pool deck.
A 12-year, $75-million loan was issued for the project in early December 2019, according to the Los Angeles Business Journal.
The estimated construction timeline has not been announced yet. The project site is located at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Palos Verdes Boulevard in Redondo Beach.
