Construction work has begun for an affordable housing project proposed at 3300 Washington Boulevard in Arlington Heights, Los Angeles. The project proposal included the development of a new four-story residential building offering units as affordable housing options, along with retail space. The project site was previously home to an oil drilling warehouse.
Thomas Safran & Associates is the project developer. BSB Design is responsible for the designs.

Named The Arlington, a groundbreaking ceremony was held earlier this week. The scope of work included the development of residential units to be marketed as affordable housing in a four-story building. The project will bring 84 affordable housing units and retail space on the ground floor. Onsite parking will also be provided. 48 apartments will be reserved as permanent supportive housing. The apartments will be priced for households ranging from the low-income to extremely low-income levels.
Project entitlements included density bonus incentives that allowed a larger structure than zoning rules would normally permit.

Renderings revealed an exterior designed in brick. Onsite residential amenities include a gym, club rooms, and podium-level courtyards. Landscaped open area spanning 8,500 square feet will also be developed on the site.
Project plans were approved in 2020, and the project received $45M in funding in 2023. The project site is situated along the south side of the street between 3rd and 4th Avenues. The Arlington is expected to be launched in the housing market in late 2025.
