A new senior housing project is under construction taking shape and form at 300 Alamitos Avenue in Long Beach. The project proposal includes the development of a new five-story apartment building offering 82 affordable apartments for seniors.

Mercy Housing California and CTY Housing are the project developers.

In late November, Mercy Housing California and CTY Housing broke ground on the senior affordable housing complex.

The scope of work includes the construction of a new five-story building offering 82 apartments. The affordable housing complex will offer one-bedroom floor plans reserved for low-income and homeless seniors.

The project was purchased by Mercy Housing using $5 million provided by the Long Beach Community Investment Company. Previously submitted plans proposed a seven-story market-rate development with 77 residential units.

The project is expected to reach completion in 2026.
