Mountain View apartments are rising at 220 Santa Clara Street, in Fillmore. The project will provide low income housing to residents. Area Housing Authority of the County of Ventura is the joint venture partner, with funding from several sources, including Ventura County Housing Trust Fund Acquisition Loan, County of Ventura CDBG Funds, State Funds, and a conventional permanent loan.
McCarthy Companies is providing preconstruction and construction services for the site. There will be a total of 77 units, with a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom options. The design will be agrarian Craftsman-style. It is inspired by Fillmore’s unique history. Low- income, very low- income, and extremely low income options will be available.
Many amenities are planned. There will be a manger/services office, a community room, two playgrounds, an outdoor activity center, on site laundry, community gardens, and a picnic/BBQ area. A standout feature will be on-site library services in partnership with The Ventura County Library System. There will be garage parking as well as guest parking.
RRM Design Group is behind the architectural design. It aims to enhance the neighborhood with charming buildings that create a pedestrian-friendly environment. The development will open in Spring of 2022.
