Exterior finishing is nearly complete at 960 West 7th Street, in the Financial District of Downtown Los Angeles. The project, by Brookfield Properties, will be one of the tallest residential towers in the city. An interest list has opened, with rentals starting in January of 2023.
Originally part of a three-tower master plan, the first two towers in the three-tower cluster went up in the ’80s to early ’90s. The remaining tower was started in 2018, on a 1.29 acre lot. It topped out in April of this year, and has been titled “Beaudry.”
The structure will reaches over 600 feet in height. There will be 785 units inside, including studio, one bedroom, two bedroom, three bedroom, and penthouse layouts. Parking will be divided between the podium and basement levels. Access will be via a private entrance off 7th Street.
Marmol Radziner, in conjunction with Large Architecture, planned the design of the building. It is inspired by Mid-Century aesthetics that utilize natural light, air, and views to bring the outdoors inside, including views of the Hollywood sign, San Gabriel mountains, and an expansive cityscape view stretching to the ocean. Amenities will include a community room, multiple areas for entertaining, lounging, and an outdoor lap pool and whirlpool with seating and semi private cabanas.

LA needs more tall and super talls. More density in the downtown core. I also wish for bolder designs. Look towards Miami or Brooklyn. More tall rectangular building are so ’90s.
