A new mixed-use project is under construction at 1800 West Beverly Boulevard in Westlake, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the development of a six-story building offering space for residential use and onsite residential amenities.
Los Angeles-based Cityview is the project developer. AC Martin is serving as the executive architect. Other members of the project team include Clark Building Group and Nadia Geller Design.
Named Belle on Bev, the multifamily apartment complex will bring a six-story building featuring 243 residential units and 3,500 square feet of ground-level retail space. Onsite parking for 292 cars will be available at completion.
Cityview secured approvals for the project using density bonus incentives to permit a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, 21 of studio, one, and two-bedroom apartments will be set aside for rent as very low-income affordable housing.
Renderings reveal a contemporary podium-type building. On-site amenities are highlighted by a speakeasy with a cocktail bar and jukebox which will be available for use by residents, or private events. Other features will include a pool, rooftop decks, a gym, a courtyard, and a yoga studio. Additionally, plans call for design elements and an art piece on the exterior of the building which reference the surrounding Historic Filipino town neighborhood.
The project occupies the southern side of Beverly Boulevard between Bonnie Brae Street and Burlington Avenue. The project is all set for completion in late 2023.
