The concrete superstructure is starting to rise for 755 South Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles. The 64-story tower is the third and final structure to rise as part of a decades-old development. Construction on the first tower started in the 1980s. Brookfield Properties is responsible for the development.
Plans for the current development call for a 64 story highrise on a 1.28-acre site. When completed, it will be 699 feet tall, 363 feet long, 137 feet wide, and have a total of 807,000 square feet of space. The inside will contain a mix of retail and 785 apartments.
Some parking will be above grade and some in the eight basement levels below. There will be parking for 1,071 vehicles and 256 long-term bicycles. Brookfield states the property will also have, “full-service amenities and unique commercial space.”
The building was designed by Marmol Radziner in conjunction with Large Architecture and includes plans for studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations. The initial permit valuation was $260 million. It is expected to finish in 2022. The address for the site is also sometimes listed as 960 West 7th Street.
