A new residential project has been proposed at 11716 Floral Drive in Whittier. The project proposal includes the construction of 25 houses and the demolition of various adjacent buildings next to Trinity Lutheran Church. Plans call for the demolition of the church’s school, parish hall, and administrative building.

Irvine-based firm Brandywine Homes is the project developer.

The school attached to Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittier is slated to make way for a new development of single-family homes. The church is selling roughly 2.5 acres of its campus. The developer plans to develop a new community called Citrange consisting of 25 detached condominiums.

Renderings reveal a mix of cottage-, farmhouse- and Spanish-style buildings designed around a network of private streets. Plans call for a mix of three and four-bedroom floor plans, ranging from 1,969 to 2,103 square feet in size. Each home will include a private two-car garage, 14 guest spots, resulting in 64 total vehicle stalls on the site.

In addition to the residential construction, the Citrange project will also include the refurbishment of the existing church’s bell tower and sanctuary. A new parish hall will also be added to the front of the building.

Construction of Citrange is expected to begin in January 2022 and conclude by June 2024.
