A new multi-family residential project has been proposed at 9829 La Serna Drive in Whittier. The project proposal includes the development of 42 townhomes on a vacant site. The property was previously home to a Marie Callendar’s restaurant.
Newport Beach-based Mission Pacific Land Company is the project developer. William Hezmalhalch Architects is responsible for the design concepts. Hermann Design Group is the landscape architect for the project, designing its central recreation area and dog park.
Named La Serna Townhomes, plans call for the redevelopment of a corner lot with 42 townhome-style condominiums. The townhomes will be designed as a mix of two-bedroom and three-bedroom dwellings. Each residence will be accompanied by a two-car garage.
The townhomes will be located in a series of three-story Mediterranean-style buildings. Construction is expected to occur in a single phase, concluding sometime in 2023.
The project site is located three miles east of the Whittier Greenway, where Downey-based Florence Homes is planning a similar residential development on Greenleaf Avenue.
