Construction of the Wrapper office tower with a twisting metal frame can be seen in Baldwin Hills, Los Angeles. The project proposal includes the construction of a 17-story office tower, featuring a unique design.

Samitaur is the project developer. Eric Owen Moss Architects is responsible for the design concepts and construction.

The project will bring a 17-story office building featuring 180,000 square feet of space. The building adjoins a multi-use trail and a subterranean parking garage on the site.

Named Wrapper, the high-rise showcases curved steel ribbons that wrap the exterior of a rectangular-shaped structure. Other than serving an aesthetic purpose, the steel frame’s design imparts strength that permits an open interior on all floors. The design is free of columns. The building’s façade rises to a height of 200 feet and will be capped with a large rooftop deck with views of the surrounding area.

Surprisingly, the office tower will not be the tallest high-rise in south Los Angeles. The tallest structure will be a mixed-use complex featuring more than 1,200 apartments and a Whole Foods Market.

The office building is located at the southeast corner of Jefferson Boulevard and National Boulevard. The tower has been under construction for the past two decades, and the completion of the tower is anticipated in June 2022.

  1. What an ugly mess of a building. They get an A for imagination. A D for execution.

  2. strapping! Let’s hope the building doesn’t get weight and pop its straps!

I’ve worked all across the united states and in my opinion this is unequivocally the ugliest building I have ever seen “anywhere-EVER”
if that’s what the designer was going for
    Congratulations
