The museum will showcase a five-story building spanning an area of 300,000 square feet. The museum will feature a library, theaters, restaurants, classrooms, offices, and exhibition space for Lucas’ 100,000-piece art collection.
Renderings reveal a concrete-and-steel-framed structure with an exterior composed of glass fiber reinforced polymer.
Large terrace decks will line the upper floors of the building, and 11 acres of new park space will be located at the foot of the museum. The museum spans above a vacated segment of 39th Street, which will also serve as the main entrance to the building.
